Out
of the Cold
Newman
Centre is involved in this Gospel-centred and interfaith
outreach to the marginalized in our city. The program runs
from November through April.
Commitment:
Newman
Centre Volunteers work in two-hour shifts from 5:00 p.m.
(Thursday evening) to 8:00 a.m. (Friday mornings).

The
Out of the Cold Program operates one night per week during
the coldest months of the year -- November to April --and
provides meals and emergency shelter to people who are homeless.
The Out of the Cold program has over 50 locations throughout
the Greater Toronto Area.
The
Newman Centre, along with several other faith communities,
operate the Out of the Cold shelter at Saint Matthew's United
Church, which is located at 729 St. Clair Street West (just
west of Christie Street). Newman Centre Volunteers work
in two-hour shifts from 5:00 p.m. (Thursday evening) to
8:00 a.m. (Friday mornings).
