The Newman Development and Peace committee is a parish level club affiliated with the Canadian Catholic Organization for development and peace, which is the official development and aid agency for the Canadian Catholic Church. Development and Peace's mission is to fight poverty and to educate the Canadian public about poverty issues around the world. We participate in different social justice related activities. We are currently taking part in a campaign petitioning the Canadian government to enforce just, equitable and environmentally friendly mining regulations.
