Lead Kindly Light Award - Volunteer Recognition

Newman Centre volunteers provide a special witness to the action of God in their lives and in the community.

To recognize these contributions, the Newman Centre has re-established the "Lead Kindly Light Award" in honour of Nancy Sidle and Dr. John Kennedy, our dearly departed friends whose legacy of love and service has left an indelible mark on the Newman community.  These awards distinguish individual volunteer excellence in furthering the mission of the Newman Centre to develop leaders who integrate faith and intellect and sharing Christ with others.

The award will be given at the annual volunteer recognition celebration this year on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Criteria for consideration of these awards include:

  • Outstanding commitment to "being there" on a consistent basis
  • Taking initiative and surpassing expectations
  • Recruiting new people to volunteer
  • Being a shining witness to Christ's presence in their lives
