Children's Liturgy

The Newman Centre offers a Children’s Liturgy each Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. The celebration of the Liturgy of the Word with children is about having children Hear the Gospel at their level of language and understanding so that through their own reflections on its meaning in their lives they can share more fully in the Gospel message. The program offers stories and activities related to the weekly gospel messages as well as time to develop Catholic values through interaction with one another. The children have an important role to play and take an active part in all Church activities and Seasons.

The Children's Liturgy program is available for children between the ages of 3 and 7 (right before 1st Communion Classes). For those with children under 3 years, we have a TV set up in the Oak Room and a basket of activities available.

To have your children participate, simply attend the 11:00 a.m. Mass. At the appropriate time, the Priest will call all children to the front of the Church for a blessing. After the blessing, the children exit with their Instructors for the Children’s Liturgy offered in the Newman Centre. The children will rejoin you in the Church at the Offertory.

All are welcome to attend, no registration necessary.
