Newman Young Adult Ministry

The Newman Young Adult Ministry (NYAM) encourages university students and other young adults in the community (roughly ages 18-39) to come together to join in social, religious, and recreational events. The goal of NYAM is to build community and fellowship amongst the young people of the parish and to deepen their spiritual lives. New members are always welcome to join in our events!

Day of Recollection : Lenten Retreat

Food for the Body, Food for the Soul : Japanese Food and Christian Meditation

Date: Saturday, Mar. 3, 2012 (12:45 to approx. 5:00pm)  -- Location: We will meet at the Newman Centre, 89 St. George Street.

The Newman Young Adult Ministry invites you to an afternoon of nourishing the body and the soul. For March, we’re featuring Japanese Food and Christian Meditation. We’ll go for sushi together and attend a session of Christian Meditation at St. Peter’s Parish.

 
Cost: $10 to $20 for lunch at the Japanese Restaurant
Christian Meditation: FREE, donations to St. Peter’s are welcome

Ecological Justice: The Connection between Catholicism and the Environment

Date: Saturday, Mar. 10, 2010 (10:00am to 4:00pm) -- Location: The Newman Centre, 89 St. George Street

Development and Peace, the Newman Centre and Faith Connections invite you to a day of Lenten reflection facilitated by Dennis Patrick O'Hara, Ph.D., Faculty of Theology, University of St. Michael's College.  The day-long event will feature: large group presentations, small group discussions, opportunity for spiritual reflection, and conclude with celebration of the Mass. Rosary Following Sunday Evening Mass

Dates: Every Sunday following 7:00pm Mass (approx. 8:15pm) -- Location: St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel at The Newman Centre

Due to popular demand, the Rosary will continue to be prayed as a group.  We will gather in the chapel after Sunday evening mass.  Bring your Rosary and join us in prayer!

Call for Volunteers

NYAM is looking for help in planning and organizing upcoming events.  Requests have been made for facilitators for leading the Rosary after mass and help in organizing the upcoming Spring Retreat in March.  A great way to get involved in the community and make new friends!
