My name is Susannah Otto and I am delighted to be the new Director of Outreach Ministries. I have been a member of the Newman community since I moved here in August 2007.

Prior to arriving in Toronto, I received an M.A. degree (English) from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario (my hometown!). Throughout my educational career, I was an active participant in my home diocese, volunteering for a number of diocesan and parish committees. Much of my time was also spent as a music minister. Music has always been an integral part of my faith life and some of you may recognize me from the Sunday morning choir.

I came to Toronto to pursue formal religious education. Currently, I am enrolled as a fulltime MDiv student at Regis College. I hope to one day pursue a career in Pastoral Care and Administration.

Throughout my studies, I had the opportunity to both volunteer and coordinate volunteers for various non-profit organizations. My experiences taught me the integral value of the role of the volunteer within so many organizations. Further, the personal and spiritual benefits of ministering to others far outweigh any possible monetary compensation!
